On February 2nd, Long Beach hosted a rare and historic Royal Rendezvous as the Queen Mary and the Queen Mary 2 reunited on the water for the first time in 20 years, creating a powerful visual link between Cunard’s storied past and its modern era. The Queen Mary 2 paused during her world voyage to meet her predecessor at a moment made even more significant as the original Queen Mary celebrates the 90th anniversary of her 1936 maiden voyage this year. The early morning event drew crowds who watched the flagship ocean liner glide past the legendary vessel, honoring nine decades of maritime innovation, glamour, and global legacy.
The Queen Mary offered a special harbor cruise that sold out quickly to witness the event from the water.
