A trip to the legendary Queen Mary encourages classroom lectures and discussions regarding her history, artwork, technological achievement and historical impact on society. The Queen Mary holds one of the world's single largest collections of original Art Deco works and décor.
Learn about her construction, launching, maiden voyage, service in World War II and final voyage to her current home in Long Beach, California. Students will visit the Propeller Box and see the last remaining propeller on the Queen Mary, explore the Queen Mary’s various decks and salons and visit the ship’s Engine Room, Infirmary and Bridge, as well as learn various nautical terms.
Students will tour the legendary Queen Mary with an educational one-hour guided tour and then will have the freedom to explore the ship at their own pace with the Self-Guided Shipwalk Tour. Learn the history of the Queen Mary while strolling the decks and hearing the stories behind the pictures and the artwork of the legendary ship. From her groundbreaking construction to her royal launch, this tour is a great way to get to know the real Queen Mary up-close and personal.
