What is CHILL?

CHILL is The Queen Mary's annual holiday event, this year experience the ALL NEW  Alice in Winterland an immersive 14,000-square foot experience that tells the story of Alice in Winterland featuring hand-crafted lanterns made from hundreds of pieces of silky cloth and countless hours of preparation in a beautiful visual celebration of the holiday season. RFID technology make the experience truly interactive as you unlock the wonders of Winterland. Ice skate under the stars on the 6,000 square-foot ice skating rink with a view of the picturesque Queen Mary ship. A holiday village will offer gingerbread houses, holiday carolers, the decoration adorned Candy Lane and a visit with Santa Claus. CHILL will also feature nightly live entertainment, movies under the stars and festive food and beverages.

About Alice in Winterland 

The Alice in Winterland experience is a vibrant presentation featuring stunning larger than life lanterns as you follow Alice and her adventure in spectacular fashion with stops at the Hall of Doors, the White Rabbit's Kitchen, Mad Hatter's Work Shop, the proverbial Tea Party, the Hedge Maze and visits from the Caterpillar and the all new Queen of Diamonds!  There is no ice in the Alice in Winterland experience, it features hand-crafted lanterns made from hundreds of pieces of silky cloth and countless hours of preparation in a beautiful visual celebration of the holiday season.

About The Queen Mary outdoor Ice Skating

 Ice skating is an additional $15 for each 45 minute session, available for purchase on-site as an upgrade to your CHILL General Admission ticket. Free ice skate rentals are included with each ticket, but guests can use their own ice skates if they so choose.

Skaters must be able to skate on their own (no carrying small children will be permitted). No one is allowed on the rink without skates. Socks are available for purchase at the skating rink and in our retail outlet. Figure and hockey skates are included in your ticket purchase and offered in sizes 6 Toddler – 15 Adult, but you can use your own skates if you have them. Skating assists are available to rent for $5 but are subject to availability. No food or beverage is allowed on the skating rink. There are 10 rinkside heated cabanas available to rent for up to 10 guests each and can be combined for larger groups. Bottle service and food service packages are available in the cabanas. Skating tickets are rain or shine - no refunds. Lockers are available for rent at the ice rink.

About Ice Tubing 

Two-story ice slide run. Ages 5+. Must be 250 lbs or less to ride. Must be 42" or taller to ride. Ticket allows unlimited trips down the slide. Tube included. No time limit. Open toed shoes not allowed. Single riders only, no lap riding.

Can I Access the Ship?

Yes! Simply present your CHILL admission ticket for free same day access to the ship, (does not include any ship tours).

Are there ATMs inside the event?

Yes, there are ATMs available both before you enter and inside the park.

What is an E.L.F. Pass?

E.L.F. (Express Lane Fast) Passes are available for $15! E.L.F. Passes give you priority entry into Alice in Winterland as well as the Ice Tubing lanes! Plus get access to our Swingin' Sleigh Ride - regularly priced at $5 per ride! Please note: there are a limited number of ELF Passes available each day, so get yours today!

Are there any VIP tickets available?

No, there are not any VIP tickets available for CHILL. We do offer an E.L.F. (Express Lane Fast) Pass upgrade available with each ticket purchase (while supplies last) that will provide purchasers with priority entry into Alice in Winterland, ice tubing lanes and unlimited rides on Santa’s Swingin’ Sleigh Ride. It doesn’t get much more VIP than that!

Are there any groups & non-profit discounts?

Groups of 15+ please EMAIL. School & non-profit organization field trips available between 9am – 10am on all days. Please EMAIL. Birthday & Holiday Parties are available in The Gingerbread House, Claus Cabin, Polar Park, Arctic Overhang and at the Rink Side Heated Cabanas. Please EMAIL.

Where can I purchase CHILL Tickets?

CHILL tickets can be purchased online at or on-site at the box office. 

Are there ins and outs?

YES, we allow guests to move freely from the ship to CHILL to enjoy tours, attractions and restaurants. Parking does NOT allow re-entry and is $20 per visit.

Can I use promo codes at the door?

No. Promo codes are for online purchases only.

Are there refunds or exchanges?

No the Queen Mary does not offer refunds for CHILL, all sales are final. A $5 per ticket time/date change fee,  as well as any increase in price between visit dates, applies to full-priced tickets purchased directly FROM The Queen Mary (available on-site only).


When is CHILL open?

What are the hours?

CHILL's hours vary. CHILL will be closed November 28-30, December 5-7, and 12-14

Will there be food and beverages available inside CHILL?

Yes, in addition to Dasher's Dogs, Rudolf's Pizza & Sausage, the Reindeer Pub & Grub, the Holiday Beach Bar, Tinsel Tacos, Frosty's Fried Treats, our Keurig Coffee display and our VIP cabanas, guests can enjoy any of the dining options aboard the World Famous Queen Mary. Click here for Queen Mary dining options.


What is CHILL's accommodations for special needs guests?

Service Animals are allowed into CHILL and on-board the ship. We do NOT provide wheelchairs or strollers. Alice in Winterland, Ginger Bread House, Claus Cabin, Skating Rink and Restrooms are Wheel Chair Accessible. The Ice Tubing Slide is not Wheel Chair Accessible.



The following is a list posted of prohibited items for this event: knives/weapons etc., drugs & drug paraphernalia, gang related clothing and items, disorderly conduct, wallet chains, costumes, pepper spray, coolers, chewing gum, flashlights and laser pointers, ALL pens and markers, carabiner key chains (larger than three inches), selfie sticks, and outside food & beverage.

Confiscated items will not be returned.

Stroller Accessibility?

Most of areas of CHILL are stroller accessible; There is a designated place for stroller parking in front of Igloo that houses Alice in Winterland. No strollers are allowed inside the igloo.

Clothing Requirements?

This is an indoor/outdoor event, we recommend that all guests wear comfortable clothing and be prepared for all types of weather. Please provide your own socks for Ice Skating, skates can be rented onsite.


Weather conditions?

CHILL is an indoor/outdoor event. During inclement weather, attractions outside of the dome may run at a limited capacity or, if necessary in order to insure the safety of our guests, may be closed with all attractions inside the dome fully operational, which includes Alice in Winterland, Glacier Glide Ice Tubing, retail, and the indoor food and beverage operations. During this time, we may introduce a special discounted Alice in Winterland and Ice Tubing only ticket option for those who wish to enjoy CHILL despite the weather. 

There are no refunds for inclement weather. 

In the event that the outdoor activities are not fully operational on a future date, guests who have pre-purchased tickets will have two options:
1) They can choose to attend the event as scheduled and take advantage of the limited operation. Upon departure these guests will receive a return ticket valid on another day of operation.
2) They can choose not to attend the event as scheduled, in which case their existing tickets will be honored on another day of operation.
